Second HiD Doctoral Conference: New Perspectives in the Humanities and Social Sciences

The second doctoral conference of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HiD) study programme, titled New Perspectives in the Humanities and Social Sciences, will take place on Thursday, 30 January, and Friday, 31 January 2025, at the Faculty of Arts (University of Ljubljana – UL FF) and the Faculty of Social Sciences (University of Ljubljana – UL FDV). Over the course of two days, attendees will have the opportunity to explore the breadth and diversity of research conducted by our doctoral students. The first day of the conference will be held at UL FF, and the second day at UL FDV.
The second conference of the interdisciplinary doctoral study programme Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana focuses on emerging research perspectives and original academic contributions. The aim of the conference is to connect doctoral students from various faculties and disciplines to foster future collaboration, emphasising the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and the development of interdisciplinary and innovative approaches in study and research. The conference brings together fields from the interdisciplinary doctoral studies of the following University of Ljubljana faculties and academies: the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Academy of Music, the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, the Faculty of Theology, and the Faculty of Social Work.
This year’s conference, held in English, will feature 60 presentations by students from the University of Ljubljana and international universities. It will include two keynote lectures (by Dr Rok Smrdelj and Dr Sinja Gerdina) and two workshops: Humanities and social sciences, let’s talk about science communication and Key aspects of productive quantitative research strategies in social sciences and humanities.
